ClassLink Email Templates
Design and HTML formatting for system update sent to hundreds of customers once a month.
THE ASK
After getting feedback that their content-packed system daily updates are overwhelming, it was time for a redesign and reformatting job.
ClassLink customers receive a daily system update via email. They have received complains that this email is overwhelming, information-packed, and hard to read. I was tasked with redesigning this email and formatting it in HTML. I designed the email on Figma, coded it in HTML, and tested it with third party email template testing website.
HIGH LEVEL TIMELINE

MY ROLE
Designer and developer
KEY GOAL
Make the Daily Summary Email simple and responsive
GOALS
Create 'Overview' section that summarizes the content, make it sleeker, and include more color and imagery.
The goal of the email redesign is to design for the user in mind. The recipients of this daily summary email are more than customers. They are important faculty that keeps schools running. They need the most important information available in a pinch. This system update has crucial data that they need.

With this in mind, I designed the email focusing on the most important information. The most coveted data is found at the top in bold, color-coded text for quick interpretation. The rest of the data is formatted in a fresh, clean way that is easy for absorb. Improving the experience of reading this email makes school IT professionals' jobs that much easier.

Design For the user
Empathetic design is the key to success. If you design with the user in mind, you will create something that they want to use, and more importantly, something that they can use.
Iterate. Iterate. Iterate.
The first version is almost never the best. Iterating and getting feedback in between each version is the key to getting a design right. Although it will never be done, getting a variety of input will ensure that your design is well thought out.
